March 20-23, 2013- Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Convention, Dallas, TX: Attended the convention where I was able to listen to a variety of educators give presentations about their research and creative teaching methods, discuss new textbooks and materials with publishers, and build meaningful professional relationships with colleagues.
February – March 2013- Great Plains Center for Community Research and Service, Minot, ND: Workshop on the methods of digital storytelling and creation. Produced a final online video project. Used what I learned in my own classroom by teaching students about narratives through a similar class project.
April – August 2011 Regional Center for the Book in Limousin, Limoges, France: Internship; Duties included writing and conducting a study on the passage from paper to digital books and communication methods in the region’s bookstores, as well as translating articles for the website “Géoculture en Limousin” from French to English.
September 2009 – August 2011- University of Limoges, Limoges, France: Master’s degree in publishing; First-year research on the use of stereotypes of the English-speaking world in fifth-grade textbook illustrations; Second-year research on the state of the digital textbook market in France.
January – May 2007- Wellsboro Middle and High Schools (8-12), Wellsboro, PA: Student teaching; Duties included student management, instruction of French language and culture classes, lesson planning, classroom organization, encouragement of openness to other cultures, and evaluation of student progress.

Immaculate Conception Catholic Community Coordinator, Minot Air Force Base (May 2015- May 2016): Responsibilities include creating weekly church bulletins, filing paperwork with the Archdiocese for Military Services, organizing church community events & groups, making announcements at church services, directing parishioners to available services, keeping the community Facebook page active and up-to-date, keeping a calendar of events for the Catholic Community, and posting monthly bulletin boards at the chapel.
Center Director at The Language Company in Minot, North Dakota (June 2013-September 2014): Responsibilities included hiring, evaluating, managing, & dismissing employees, marketing & outreach, academic counseling international students, tutoring struggling students or those needing professional skills, mediation of conflicts, various reports on center progress, budgeting, assisting the central office in analyzing curriculum, policies, survey results, etc.
Teacher of English as a second language at The Language Company in Minot, North Dakota (June 2012 – June 2013): Responsibilities included teaching reading, writing, grammar, editing, and American culture; designing lessons the follow the objectives; writing and administering tests; evaluating and planning for the textbooks at the TLC Minot Center; mentoring new teachers; and classroom management.
English tutor at Acadomia Tutoring Center in Limoges, France (September 2010-June 2011): Duties included assessment students’ strengths and weaknesses, design of curriculum and lesson plans adapted to meet students’ goals, evaluation of student progress, and encouragement of self-confidence for students ranging from 12-18.
English language assistant in the Limoges Public School System, Limoges, France (October 2007- June 2010): Duties included curriculum and resource choice and design, lesson planning, instruction time, classroom management, and creation of a supportive and communicative atmosphere for students from kindergarten to fifth grade. In the Spring of 2008, I was chosen from among all of the assistants in the Limousin region to participate in a study of a new program for distance learning within the Limoges Public School System; Duties included participation in a lesson-planning team, instruction via video-conference, and evaluation of the possibilities of utilization of the technologies proposed.
Various tutoring positions (Writing Center, French, Basic English, English Grammar) at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania in Mansfield, PA (Academic years 2004-2007): Responsibilities included assisting university students in the improvement of all types of writing assignments & at all stages of the writing process, assisting with homework, re-explaining concepts covered in classes, designing & administering mock exams, and helping students to develop stronger study skills.
